This substantial renovation to the historic main building in anticipation of its centennial celebration in July 2013 encompassed architecture, interior design, and graphic design. Project highlights include the renovation and restoration of the Great Hall, guest room and corridor renovations, the design of multiple venues for food and beverage, the design of retail venues, and over 700 pieces of custom artwork.
A new retail passage created in an underutilized corridor of the Inn was designed as an indoor street featuring wood clapboard shop fronts, pendant lanterns, and bracketed signs. Retail venues, conceived and named by the designers, were designed to appeal to a variety of guests — from small children to grandparents — and provide diversity of offerings. Anchoring this retail spectrum is The Marketplace, a collection of small boutique-type shops centered upon a coffee bar with counter and stools.
