Nestled in the wooded rolling hills of Richmond’s Three Chopt Road Historic District are four storybook cottages, designed in the 1920’s by renowned New York City architect, Ernest Flagg. Known for their steeply pitched roofs with swept eaves, rustic walls of local stone, and ridge top dormer windows (intended to draw heat out of the house on summer days), these intimate homes are both functional and picturesque. In our latest residential renovation, we worked with long-term clients to transform the old garage and garden shed area into a separate living retreat for out-of-town guests replicating Flagg’s unique style throughout.
