Conceptual Design Study Complete for Adaptive Reuse of Historic Church
We recently collaborated with Archsmith Studio completing a conceptual design study for the adaptive reuse of the former Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Newport News, Virginia.
Built in 1949 but vacant since 1989, the structure stands at a critical juncture between downtown and the pedestrian riverfront.
The project will form a key connection between the Yard District and the newly constructed James River Strand project.
Pulling from a thorough building analysis, community input, and a comprehensive market study, the vision proposes a vibrant fusion of dining, entertainment, and event space, all while celebrating the authentic character of the historic structure.
