Process
In 2013, The Georges tapped 3North to help create a cohesive renovation for two of Lexington’s oldest surviving structures, the Washington Building and the Marshall Building. Between both buildings, this 18-room boutique hotel also offers a casual piano bar restaurant, lobby lounge, and comfortable reception area. Modern amenities were integrated throughout to complement the original character and charm. With both structures on the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places, historic tax credits were included in the design considerations and project financing structure.
In 2017, The Georges was honored with Historic Hotels of America‘s “New Member of the Year Award of Excellence”, and most recently named No. 2 in the category of the “Top City Hotels in the Continental U.S.” in Travel + Leisure magazine’s 2020 World’s Best Awards readers survey.
In 2023, 3North helped transform the most recent addition to The Georges, the historic Livery Building.
